WWII Veteran Robert W. Jones was born on September 9th, 1922 and on May 13, 2022 we interviewed Robert (U.S. Air Force 1942-45) and his granddaughter U.S. Coast Guard/Air Force Veteran Lisha Jones at VFW Post 5350 in Westhampton Beach NY. Lisha served in the U.S. Coast Guard 1996-2004 as a dental assistant before serving as a security specialist in the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserve. Lisha’s grandfather Robert served in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft engineer during WWII. The Jones family has a long history of service going back to the American Revolution where their relative Robert Townsend was part of the Culper spy ring supplying vital information for George Washington.
