Brown Johnson - U.S. Navy 1944-52

Brown Johnson joined the Navy in 1944 and served in the Pacific Fleet as a Radioman 2nd Class. His ship, USS City of Oklahoma, took part in the Battle of Okinawa and the naval Bombardment of Tokyo Bay. The ship was in Tokyo Bay for the surrender ceremony and then remained patrolling off the coast of Japan for six months before returning to the United States. He stayed in the Reserves until 1952. He lives in Fort Pierce, Florida.
